Woman Rescued

A Coast Guard boat crew rescued a woman from the water at the Depoe Bay Bar entrance.

The 47-foot Motor Life Boat responded from Coast Guard Station Depoe Bay and used a heaving line to reach the woman and bring her on board, safely transporting her back to station and transferring her to waiting emergency medical personnel. She was taken to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Bend received the initial report at 11:49 a.m. from Lincoln County Dispatch personnel, about a person seen in the water near the Depoe Bay entrance. The Lifeboat crew, and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Facility Newport responded.
