Two people and four dogs rescued

A Coast Guard crew rescued two people and four dogs on a 26 ft pleasure vessel taking on water 1.5 miles east of Point No Point in Puget Sound, about 9:30 pm Tuesday night.

The Coast Guard RBM arrived on scene about 9:20 pm. In calm conditions. A Coast Guard Crewman plugged a hole in the stern of the vessel and used a dewatering pump to remove 2ft of water to stabilize the situation before the rescue crew towed the boat, people and pets to Edmonds Marina.

The crew of the Victoria Clipper, a catamaran-style passenger vessel was in the area and stood by with the pleasure craft in case of a abandon ship situation.
