Two Fishermen overdue – search for Baywolf continues

Coast Guard helicopter, Alaska State Trooper crews and local volunteers are searching for Peter and Justin Nanouk, father and son ages 55 and 35, near St. Michael, in calm weather on Tuesday.

The Nanouk’s boat, Baywolf, is a 22-foot aluminum open-top ocean boat. The father and son left Unalakleet, Saturday morning for a fishing trip to St. Michael.

Watchstanders at the 17th Coast Guard District received a request for assistance from Alaska State Troopers, Tuesday.

Crews are searching extensively in the area where the father and son were fishing.

Adam De Rocher, a command duty officer for the Coast Guard 17th District, said “We greatly appreciate the expert knowledge the Troopers and volunteers bring to the table in this effort to locate the Nanouks.”
