Medivac from Cape Greig, crewman safe

A crewman was helicoptered from the fishing vessel Cape Greig 154 miles east of Kodiak, Tuesday. The Coast Guard crew safely hoisted the ailing crewman and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical personnel in Kodiak.

Coast Guard in Juneau received notification the 50-year-old crewman was experiencing symptoms of appendicitis.

Weather on the scene was mild, 17-mph winds with 8-foot seas
