Disabled Fishing Boat – all safe

Alaska State Troopers received a cell phone report of a disabled 24-foot fishing boat near Hooper Bay. Apparently the vessel ran out of gas Friday evening and the three occupants were using a cell phone to call for assistance.

Unable to locate the vessel, State Troopers notified the Coast Guard who used a Hercules airplane to locate the boat. They remained on scene until Alaska State Troopers arrived to provide fuel and escort the boat and three occupants safely into port.
