Crewman Medevaced from F/V Golden Alaska

A 42-year-old crewman was medevaced from the 94-foot factory stern trawler Golden Alaska approximately 75 miles northwest of Cold Bay, Alaska.

The Crewman was suffering from a hernia and needed to receive surgical care within eight hours. A Jayhawk crew flying near Dutch Harbor, Alaska, was diverted to the scene. Coast Guard was able to get the crewman to medical providers in Cold Bay within approximately 3 hours from initial notification.
