F/V Car Tanya safe but operations terminated

The crew of the 58ft F/V Car Tanya reported to the Coast Guard that the vessel was taking on water and losing power about 13 miles from Coos Bay.

The Coast Guard delivered a de-watering pump and provided escort until the vessel lost power. The Coast Guard crew successfully dewatered and then towed the 58-foot fishing vessel to the bar and there requested another Station Coos Bay vessel bring a second dewatering pump.

During the tow, the Car Tanya radio failed and the Coast Guard crew provided a handheld radio.

With the Car Tanya safely moored up in Coos Bay the Coast Guard conducted a post-Search and Rescue boarding, resulting in a termination order due to multiple discrepancies found aboard the vessel.

A Captain of the Port order was issued to the vessel due to deteriorated conditions it will be required to stay in port until repairs are made.
