Lost Family Rescued

A Coast Guard helicopter worked with Long Beach Police Department personnel and park rangers, to rescue a family of three, including a 20-month-old child, who were reportedly lost in Leadbetter Point State Park, Washington, Saturday.

An Air Station Astoria MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew landed in a clearing near a beach to rescue the lost family and transferred them to Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment, Washington, where park rangers met them to take them back to their vehicle.

Coast Guard Sector Columbia River watchstanders received a request for assistance from Long Beach Police Department around 9 p.m. to rescue hikers who had reportedly gotten off trail and were lost.
There were no reports of injuries.
