Update: Searching for overdue boater – ended

A four day search was ended after Alaska State Troopers and Wrangell Search and Rescue located the body of the missing boater near Wrangell, Alaska, Wednesday.

The man was located deceased in the vicinity of Earl West Cove south of Madan Bay.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Anacapa, MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crews from Air Station Sitka and Coast Guard Station Ketchikan 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crews, along with partner agencies, searched for the boater since Sunday.
