The duck boat operator had already activated the on-board fire suppression system and everyone was wearing life jackets devices by the time the Coast Guard and an San Francisco Fire Department fire boat arrived. The Coast Guard reports taking 14 passengers off the duck boat to Pier 52, while Westar Marine Services towed the duck boat to that same pier for an investigation into the cause of the fire.
